CMC is excited to join our neighbors at Bissap Baobab to provide live music every 1st and 3rd Wednesday! Enjoy delicious West African food, tasty beverages, and awesome community “teranga” (hospitality)—with a variety of talented CMC students, faculty, and community performers. Come listen, dance, socialize with other CMC musicians and celebrate the vibrant culture of the Mission District.

Swing to the sounds of iconic jazz composers with CMC Jazz Ensembles, directed by Charlie Gurke. Explore the dynamic grooves, soulful melodies, and evocative harmonies of jazz greats through the ages, from Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter and more. The second set will open up for guests to sit in and join the jam—so bring your instrument and talk to Charlie during the break if you want to play!
