Richard Fey

(2009) Richard Fey teaches in a variety of styles of singing and repertoire, including standards, musical theater and jazz, as well as classical. He adapts the level according to the experience and capability of each student. Employing various methods of expression within the lessons is important and a fun aspect in his work with students. Richard has performed throughout California, New York City and Germany in opera, concert and musical theater, including Don Quixote in “Man of La Mancha,” Don Pasquale, Figaro (Rossini and Mozart) and Germont in Verdi’s “La Traviata.” He was in the 7th Army Soldiers’ Chorus, Heidelberg, Germany and has sung with New York City Opera Theater, Goldovsky Grand Opera Theater and Eastern Opera Theater in Baltimore and in concerts with Reno Chamber Orchestra, San Francisco Chorale Society and California Bach Society and was a participant in the Merola Opera Program. As a part of his training, Richard also sang the Music Teacher in Strauss’s opera “Ariadne auf Nazus” at the Yale Summer School of Music & Art. Fey has received the Shenson Faculty Recital Award at CMC, and the Bernard Osher Award as a participant in the Merola Opera Program of San Francisco Opera. Richard also sings regularly in solo programs entitled “Richard Fey, a Classical Cabaret,” which include costumes, discussions of his repertoire in presentations that include opera, musical theater and art songs in varied venues. www.richardfeyaclassicalcabaret.org
