(1985) Anything Goes Chorus I and II Director. Ellen Robinson is a true pied piper of singing who has helped take many a vocalist from the level of simply wanting to sing to the stage. She has sung folk, rock, musical theater, a cappella and jazz and is notable for guiding vocalists toward mastery of nearly any genre of song.
Ellen is definitely at home as a vocalist and performer herself with a bevy of concerts at major venues, such as Yoshi’s and Freight and Salvage, as well as recording and producing her own jazz CDs. She founded the Anything Goes Chorus in 1980 and directs a group at CMC and in the East Bay. She is a vocal coach for musical theater classes at
Stagebridge, the nation’s oldest senior theater company, and also teaches private voice students. Ellen is a Jefferson Award winner and a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She received a Bachelor of Music from Ithaca College and completed graduate studies at Bank Street College of Education, SUNY-Stony Brook, Hofstra University and C.W. Post.
