(1992) Private piano instructor, theory/ear training/composition (Western Classical). Her degrees include a BM in Composition at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and an MA in Composition at Mills College. She studied piano with Dady Mehta, Albertine Votapek, Ian Hobson and Bill Sorenson; her composition teachers include Herbert Brün, Salvatore Martirano, David Liptak and Morgan Powell.
Ms. Mercer specializes in contemporary performance practice and enjoys working with students who want to play with more freedom and physical ease.
