Steve Snelling

(2023). Steve Snelling is a life-long musician, having performed in innumerable ensembles and as a soloist in styles encompassing jazz, classical, pop, rock, country, a cappella, liturgical, and choral—from classical to Americana.

Steve earned a M.M. in Classical Piano Performance (1986) while enrolled in the renown UNCJazz Studies Program at the University of Northern Colorado, accompanying and coaching jazz ensembles including big-bands, small ensemble jazz, and vocal jazz choirs.

Since moving to San Francisco in 2005, he has taught and performed throughout the Bay area, developing his teaching resources through private instruction, workshops, and his growing YouTube teaching channel, Dharmajazz.

Steve is the author of the jazz piano resource book, The Road to Aqaba—Practice Strategies for the Jazz Pianist (Dharmajazz, 2007), as well as numerous e-Books and practice guides for educators and students.
