Paul G McCurdy

(2024). Paul G. McCurdy is an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco, where he serves as piano instructor and collaborative pianist with voice and string students and the University Choir. He is currently the pianist for the chamber choirs Sacred & Profane and Volti, and is organist and sings bass in the one-to-a-part a capella choir at St. Thomas Anglican Church. He works regularly with A.C.T. Young Conservatory, ArtSmart, and Lamplighters Musical Theatre and has served as teacher, coach, or pianist for a number of organizations throughout the Bay Area, including Chabot College, the Lesbian/Gay Chorus of San Francisco, Lick-Wilmerding High School, Masterworks Chorale, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, San Francisco Choral Society, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, the San Francisco Girls Chorus, 21V, and Young Women’s Choral Projects.

Paul holds degrees in anthropology and German from the University of Georgia, where he later studied music and served as collaborative pianist before moving to the Bay Area. While steeped in Western European classical traditions, and having recorded a live album of Mozart’s sonatas in C major, Paul’s current interests are in jazz, improvisational and spontaneous music making, and general musical creativity.
