(2025). María de la Rosa is a performing artist and educator. Artistic Director of the music ensemble DíaPa’Són. For 30+ years, studied and collaborated with masters of Mexican dance, music, and poetry including: Patricio Hidalgo, Rubí Oseguera, Gilberto Gutiérrez, Artemio Posadas; performed nationally and in Mexico; received national awards developing works, including new music composition, that reflect her heritage, center community, and promote visionary re-considerations of artistic cultural traditions. Guest lecturer at several area universities. Teaches music in Oakland elementary schools. BA/MA from Stanford University. California Teaching Credential with authorization in Music. She believes the arts are vital in sustaining the well-being of a community over generations.
