Ingrid Fischer Bellman

(2024). Ingrid Fischer Bellman was born in Bucharest, Romania, and received her advanced musical training at Tel-Aviv University Music Academy and Indiana University School of Music. Her major teachers have included Janos Starker, Uzi Wiesel and Samuel Shore. Ingrid joined the cello section of the Indianapolis Symphony in 1978 and retired after serving 43 seasons. Ingrid received the ISO’s “Patch Award,” in recognition of musical excellence and community service. She played with the Jeunesse Musicale International Orchestra, the Holon Chamber Orchestra and the Tel-Aviv Academy Chamber Orchestra. Ingrid creates innovative educational programs for all ages and maintains a studio of young cellists. She has appeared as soloist with the Jerusalem Radio Orchestra, the Indianapolis Philharmonic and the Carmel Symphony. Together with David Bellman and Greg Martin she was co-director of the Ronen Chamber Ensemble. Ingrid and her husband, clarinetist David Bellman moved to the bay area in 2023 to be close to their daughter.
