Free Open House: Intro to Music for Kids
Looking for the perfect way to introduce your child to music? Join us at CMC for a free Open House, where young students can explore in a fun and welcoming environment! Each session includes an overview of CMC and our programs, followed by a short demo class.
This is a great chance to try out a class before our Fall Quarter classes begin September 2!
Demo Classes:
- Music for Children (Ages 4–7): Engaging exploration through song and movement.
- Intro to Guitar (Ages 6–8): Start with simple single-string exercises and get a glimpse of basic chords you’ll learn in class
Please note: Each attendee may participate in one workshop only, so be sure to choose the one that interests you most.

About Introduction to Guitar:
Introduction to Guitar I (Ages 6–8)This class offers young students a fun and supportive environment to begin learning guitar fundamentals using classical guitar technique—ideal for smaller hands. Students will explore rhythm and melody through full-body engagement, including fingers, ears, and group song-playing. They’ll start with simple melodies on the first three strings, learn the G major scale, and begin reading rhythmic notation. The class prepares students for future levels and encourages consistent, low-pressure home practice to boost enjoyment and progress. A small-sized nylon-string guitar is required.
About Music For Children:
Music for Children teaches young kids musical skills through rhythm games, singing, creative movement, dancing, musical play, and the use of instruments. These group classes give fun, positive, and successful musical experiences to children, inspiring a lifelong love of music in a supportive social environment, easing the way to success in the next stage of their musical journeys.
