CMC is excited to join the bimonthly neighborhood favorite Mission Arts Performance Project (MAPP) CMC’s Cultural Traditions department will present a series of free performances from group class ensembles as part of the MAPP events, featuring our talented faculty and student ensembles—from jazz to Latin to R&B and more.

- 6–6:50pm: Son Jarocho Music with Maria de la Rosa. Discover Son Jarocho with an exploration of the music’s history, plus dance, live music, and more. Learn more about CMC’s newest fall Son Jarocho Music class!
- 7–7:50pm: Peruvian Cajon with Pierr Padilla. In celebration of the Peruvian holiday Día del Cajón Peruano, enjoy a lively and rhythmic display of traditional Peruvian music in an interactive workshop/performance—with audience participation (cajones provided). - 8–9:15pm CMC Cuban Charanga Ensemble with Tregar Otton Featuring everything from Cuban Danzón and Boleros and Cha Cha Cha to Timba, across the spectrum of Cuban dance music from the 1940s through today. The 14-piece Cuban dance ensemble will get you grooving—dance floor open!
MAPP is a lively, old-school Mission-wide party, well-attended by folks from the neighborhood and afar with bimonthly events all over the Mission for over 15 years. MAPP is dedicated to cultivating, building and defending the culture, history, character and community in the Mission District—transforming public spaces, non-profits, street corners, BART stations, cafes, bars, taquerias, garages and homes, into venues with free live music, spoken word, performance art, film screenings, delicious food, and a wide range of unique happenings.
