Musicians from Mission District Young Musicians Program (MDYMP) and will join Paseo Artístico with a musical performance in the Calle 24 Latino Cultural District alongside Fernando Ramirez Screen Printing/Student Walkout Prints from May 1, 2006.

2–3pm: CMC Performance at Evolved SF Gallery (3067 24th St)

This October, Acción Latina brings back Paseo Artistico, the free bilingual community art stroll on 24th Street in the Mission District. As we anticipate a very politically charged Fall 2024, this month’s theme is History Matters in the Mission 2000’s Edition and features art and performances that recall the decade’s moments of justice and unity including the election of the First Black President of the United States, the AntiWar protests and solidarity against the invasion of Afghanistan and the 2nd Iraq War, A Day Without Immigrants, Oscar Grant, invention of Social Media, and the Mission AntiDispacement Coalition. The History Matters in the Mission Series highlights the important issues and events of a different decade in the neighborhood’s past. History Matters in The Mission also asks local artists to utilize El Tecolote Bilingual Newspaper digital archives to direct the subject matter and historical figures to be highlighted in the performances and shows.

Paseo Artistico is co-presented by 24th Street cultural venues including Mission Cultural Center, Brava Theater, Dance Mission, Precita Eyes Muralists, Community Music Center, Medicine For Nightmares Bookstore, Calle 24 Latino Cultural District, EvolvedSF, Donaji Rand Artillery Ceramics Studio. Paseo Artistico is generously supported by Latino Community Foundation Poderatre Grant, SFAC.

Full festival runs 12–7pm. Free for the whole family. Learn more at paseoartistico.org
