Juliet McComas Keyboard Marathon: Bouncing off Bach

Join us as we explore the boundless creativity that springs from the foundation laid by the master himself, Johann Sebastian Bach. Bouncing off Bach is a collaborative faculty concert that celebrates the enduring legacy of one of the most influential composers in history.

Despite living over three centuries ago, Bach continues to inspire and influence artists across genres. From classical virtuosos to jazz innovators, musicians of all styles and eras have been drawn to Bach’s masterpieces, finding within them a rich source of creative spark.

When Juliet McComas founded the CMC Keyboard Marathon in 2004, she quite naturally put Bach first, chosinge the Preludes and Fugues of the Well-Tempered Clavier for the inaugural concert.  By returning to Bach for inspiration today, we honor Juliet and celebrate 20 years of exploring great music together.

In this year’s annual Juliet McComas Keyboard Marathon, we invite you to experience the timeless beauty and genius of Bach’s music—and music inspired by him—as interpreted by talented pianists from CMC faculty and special guest artists. Each performance will showcase how Bach’s work continues to inspire new generations, shaping the sound of classical music and beyond.
