Now’s your chance! Join us for a free Open House at CMC designed especially for adults. Explore a wide variety of instruments and musical styles in a welcoming, no-pressure environment. From piano, voice, and guitar for beginners to Latin musical traditions, this is the perfect opportunity to try something new before our Winter Quarter begins.

You’ll participate in several mini-classes, each 15–25 minutes long.

Sign up for each hour-long session that you’re interested in (one or both):
12–1pm: Classes for Beginners (Instruments & Voice)
- Intro to Piano Get a feel for the keys, explore basic techniques, and try playing a simple tune with Zahra Rothschild
- Beginning Group Guitar for Adults Discover the basics of guitar and experience the joy of making music with Sandy Brassard
- Beginning Voice Learn techniques to sing in healthy ways as a foundation for enjoyment and continued study and practice in any style
1–2pm: Latin Music Traditions
- Afro-Peruvian Cajon get hands-on and groove with the iconic Peruvian wooden box drum with Pierr Padilla
- Son Jarocho Discover traditional rhythms and unique instruments of the fandango, a community music from Veracruz, Mexico with Maria de la Rosa.
No prior experience is needed, just a curiosity for music and a willingness to have fun.
