CMC Celebration Concert Series: Uniting San Francisco’s music communities to celebrate our newly expanded campus! Every Friday night in March, catch a lineup full of some of the Bay Area’s finest musicians, who just happen to be CMC supporters and family. From rock to jazz, folk to Latin, soul, funk, and everything in between—enjoy incredible music and party CMC-style. Drinks and submission for a drawing to win a quarter of free tuition will be available.

Featured Artists:
Marcus Shelby: Marcus Anthony Shelby is a renowned composer, bassist, bandleader, and educator who currently lives in San Francisco, California. His work focuses on the history, present, and future of African American lives social movements and music education. Marcus leads CMC’s tuition-free Teen Jazz Orchestra, and is currently Artistic Director of Healdsburg Jazz, artist in residence with the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, and a past resident artist with the San Francisco Jazz Festival and the Healdsburg Jazz Festival. Guest musicians to be announced.
Young Musicians Program Jazz Ensemble: Directed by renowned jazz guitarist Scott Foster, the YMP Jazz ensemble is filled with talented students and is an establishment in the CMC community.
Teen Jazz Orchestra: Directed by Marcus Shelby, CMC’s Teen Jazz Orchestra is dedicated to performing both iconic composers and original compositions, and exploring the cultural impact of jazz.
