CMC is excited to join our neighbors at Bissap Baobab to provide live music every 1st and 3rd Wednesday! Enjoy delicious West African food, tasty beverages, and awesome community “teranga” (hospitality)—with a variety of talented CMC students, faculty, and community performers. Come listen, dance, socialize with other students, and celebrate the vibrant culture of the Mission District.
Wednesday, December 4 from 6:30–8:30pm *please note the slight time change!*
@ Bissap Baobab (2243 Mission Street, SF)
Free (food & drinks sold separately)
Join CMC’s Latin Jazz Ensemble, led by Erick Peralta, for a lively evening of music. Enjoy tunes from traditional to contemporary from the Caribbean and Latin America—from son, guaracha, and cha-cha-cha from Cuba; bomba from Puerto Rico; samba and choro from Brazil, and more. Don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes! The second set will open up for guests to sit in and join the jam—so bring your instrument and talk to Erick during the break if you want to play!
