The countdown is on. Registration for the Fall Quarter at CMC closes in just two days. There is still time to join a class, explore a new instrument, or return to the joy of making music in a supportive and welcoming environment.
At CMC, students often say that what keeps them coming back year after year is not only the love of music but also the teachers. The dedicated faculty bring experience, warmth, and creativity to every lesson, helping students of all ages and backgrounds grow as musicians and as people.
One student shared, “I am having so much fun, and I have an even more positive attitude toward music than I had before!” Another student who started studying music theory later in life wrote, “Jono is a very knowledgeable, professional, and gentle instructor. He is my first music theory teacher, and I was afraid to place myself in a vulnerable position of a learner at 70 years of age.”
CMC teachers inspire students at every stage of their musical journey. “Beth is a wonderful leader and very talented. We are so fortunate to have choir with her,” one choir participant said.
Another student expressed deep appreciation for the impact of their teacher, Ken Little, sharing how transformative the experience has been:
“Ken Little is a gifted teacher. He has the ability to meet me where I am and give me the musical tools to expand my skill set exponentially. He incorporates theory with technique, and this is an awesome twosome. I feel extremely fortunate to have him as an instructor. At 87, I never flatter, and when I shower praise, it is authentic. Accolades for Ken Little for having the expertise to expand my musical awareness beyond what I felt was possible, the sense of humor to make the lesson joyful, the patience to clarify anything that I ask, and the genius to empathize and sympathize with an old-school musician. I am a super, super happy camper!”
And for many, the connection with their teacher becomes an essential part of their musical growth. “Christian Bonvin is a warm, positive, thoughtful teacher. I am very fortunate to be studying with him,” one student shared.
Registration for the Fall Quarter closes soon. Do not miss your chance to learn from inspiring teachers and make music in the community. Whether you are 8 or 88, a beginner or an experienced player, there is a place for you here.
