Aaron Bierman’s Story

AnchorCmc 3724Aaron Bierman first picked up a guitar at CMC when he was just eight years old, starting lessons with Patrick Greene, a parent at his elementary school who also taught at CMC. He vividly remembers his first recital, where he was so nervous that he forgot to tune his guitar before going onstage. In that moment, Aaron feared he might lose his merit scholarship, but instead, he discovered something more important—CMC was a place where mistakes were part of learning, and where students were supported and encouraged. That early experience planted the seeds of his confidence and love for performing, lessons he still carries with him today.

Over the years, Aaron immersed himself in CMC’s programs, from the Young Musicians Program to the Teen Jazz Orchestra, and spent summers as a Camp CMC intern. He played alongside faculty at galas and community events, experiences that taught him both musicianship and professionalism. He also began mentoring younger students, discovering the joy of helping others find their place and confidence in music.

After high school, Aaron continued his journey with CMC as a staff member. During the pandemic, he stepped into a full-time role managing onsite operations, learning to be self-sufficient, adaptable, and responsible. He credits these experiences with preparing him for college at Berklee College of Music, where he stood out not just for his musical skill but for his ability to collaborate and navigate new challenges with ease.

Today, Aaron is a professional musician and guitar teacher in New York City. Reflecting on his path, he says, “I can always refer to CMC as the reason I got to where I am. The experiences, the people, and the lessons I learned there gave me the tools to succeed—not just in music, but in life.”

Through every stage of his journey, CMC has remained a guiding influence—a community that nurtured his growth, gave him confidence, and helped shape his song. And now, in turn, Aaron continues to share that gift with the next generation of students.
