Susan Peña

Susan Peña has been performing songs in English and Spanish in Bay Area schools and libraries for more than 20 years. Her bilingual CD, “Susan Peña’s Favorites” and its associated DVD and Teacher’s Manual feature well loved children’s songs from North and South America. Susan plays the guitar and the violin, and has taught music for Guitars in the Classroom, in K-1 classes at Buena Vista Alternative School in San Francisco, and at various music camps, including Lark in the Morning Music and Dance Gathering in Mendocino, The Sweet’s Mill Music and Arts Camp in the Sierras, and at Voice Works and the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes in Port Townsend, Washington. Susan taught Spanish for many years at Westmoor High School in Daly City, where she used songs to teach language. She currently co-teaches a Spanish language pre-school class and Older Adult Guitar class at Mission Neighborhood Center (MNC), a collaborative project between CMC and MNC.
