Music for Life – Ukulenny with Beth Wilmurt

Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 5:30pm

Ukulenny, also known as Lendl San Jose, sees the ukulele as a transformative instrument ideally suited for spreading positive energy, good cheer and aural pleasure. For the past decade he’s spread the uke gospel as a teacher, performer and online impresario whose YouTube channel has garnered nearly 10 million views and some 76,000 subscribers. Joining him in conversation about music as a force for well-being is Beth Wilmurt, a fellow uke evangelist’s popular Uke’n Sing classes has introduced people of all ages to the particular tuneful joys of the diminutive four-string instrument. A long-time faculty member at the Community Music Center, Wilmurt leads its tuition free Children’s Chorus and three Older Adult Choirs. Preston Justice, YBGF’s house emcee and the programmer of OMCA Friday nights, moderates the conversation. A guest from the SF Department of Disability and Aging Services will also speak.

This event will be conducted online via video conferencing.
