It’s almost that time of year again! The classrooms of our Mission District Branch are about to fill with the sounds of tuning violins, rhythmic drumming, and young voices finding their range.
While school doors close for the summer, our doors at 544 Capp Street open to a world of musical possibility. We provide a supportive home where kids can dive into new cultures and find their own unique beat alongside new friends. Whether your child is picking up an instrument for the very first time or is ready to solo in a jazz band, they belong here at CMC.
What makes CMC summer camps special? Just ask the families who were with us last year. For many students, the experience doesn’t end when the camp day is over—it sparks a passion that follows them home.
“Sowon is enjoying every bit of camp!” says parent Jeehaeh Do. “She is singing, practicing, and studying how to read music sheets when she comes home. It’s been a wonderful experience for all of us… oh, and she has firmly stated that she will return next year with better music skills!”
That sense of excitement is contagious. Parent Leswin D’cunha shared that after the very first day, the feedback was clear: “Anaiah’s Day 1 report-out started out with… ‘music camp is the best camp ever..can I please do it again next year?!'”

We offer a wide variety of styles and traditions to ensure every young musician finds something they love.
For the Young Beginners
- CMC Sparks Camp (Ages 8–12): The perfect “discovery” camp for beginners to explore piano, guitar, and song.
- Session 1: July 6–10
- Session 2: July 13–17
- Camp CMC (Ages 8–12): A fun, collaborative ensemble camp for young musicians looking to play together.
- Dates: June 15–19
For Cultural & Stylistic Exploration
- Rhythm & Roots (Ages 11–15): A deep dive into the world of Jazz and Latin music.
- Dates: June 22–26
- Mariachi & Sparks Mariachi (Ages 9–15): Explore the rich tradition of Mexican music through voice and guitar.
- Dates: June 29–July 3
For Intermediate & Advanced Students
- Chamber Music Camp (Ages 12–18): Small group playing that focuses on communication and collaborative artistry.
- Dates: June 22–26
- Musical Theater Camp (Ages 11–14): In partnership with Pacific Singers & Actors Workshop. Note: This camp is tuition-free with an SFUSD or CMC teacher nomination.
- Dates: July 6–10

At CMC, we believe music is a right, not a privilege. That is why Tuition Assistance is available for all of our camps. We want to ensure that every child has the opportunity to explore their musical potential, regardless of financial circumstances.
