Step Into the Spotlight: CMC’s First-Ever Open Mic Night!

Are you working on a new tune, perfecting a cover, or just looking for a fun way to share your music? Then mark your calendar for CMC’s first-ever Open Mic Night! This is your chance to perform on stage, meet other musicians in the community, and enjoy a night of creativity and collaboration. Whether your piece is original, a work-in-progress, or part of a mini jam, the mic is yours!

All musical styles and skill levels are welcome: from solo vocalists to bands, chamber ensembles to rock & roll groups. Open to CMC students, faculty, and local community musicians, this event is designed to be low-pressure, inclusive, and supportive.

Hosted by Shannon Koehler, Operations Director, and Luna Fuentes, Concert Hall Manager, the evening promises great music, beverages, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Event Details:
When: Wednesday, October 1 | 7–8:30 pm (Doors & beverage bar open for sign-ups at 6pm)
Where: CMC Concert Hall
Cost: FREE – RSVP here

How to Perform:

  • Sign-ups are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the event.
  • Each performer can play 1–2 songs or up to 10 minutes, so everyone gets a chance on stage.
  • Equipment provided: Bose S1 speaker (with playback capability), two microphones, a grand piano, a drum set, a bass amp, two guitar amps, and two congas. Please bring your own instruments, cables, or accessories not listed.
  • CMC will not provide a piano accompanist for this show, so please make arrangements if needed.
