(2023). Alex is an accomplished teacher and performer with 15 years of teaching experience. He is fluent in Rock, Pop, Jazz, R&B, Latin and Blues. He is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and expertise with students of all ages and skill levels. Alex has performed with: Hal Stein, Herb Gibson, Bishop Norman Williams, Vince Lateano, Nacha Mendez, and Kenny Wollesen at numerous venues in the Bay Area and nationally including San Jose Jazz Festival, SF Jazz, Jazz at Pearls’, Vancouver International Jazz Festival, along with numerous Rock, Jazz and Blues gigs in the Bay Area, NYC and Europe.

He has performed with his own group at many venues including the Kuumbwa Jazz Center, Bruno’s, and the Humboldt Jazz Society and has made two recordings under his own name. His CD “Yeahway” was played on over 30 jazz stations in the US and was KSDS “disc of the day” in 2006. Alex studied Music at UC Santa Cruz and Cabrillo College. He has additionally studied with Kevin Eubanks and Dave Holland at the Banff Jazz Workshop
