Leo Baluk

A native to San Francisco, Leo Baluk began his cello studies over 20 years ago at CMC. He now currently performs with Symphony Parnassus and the Golden Gate Symphony, as well as in various local music scenes and venues in the Bay Area. Aside from performing, he has been teaching cello to students of all levels for several years, always looking for new ways to make music and cello exciting and inspiring.

Leo earned his Bachelors degree in Cello Performance from University of California, Irvine, where he studied with Dr. Maggie Parkins, and completed his Masters at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, studying with Jean-Michel Fonteneau. Afterwards, he went on to earn an Artist’s Diploma with the San Francisco Academy Orchestra, where he studied with SF Symphony’s Assistant Principal cellist Amos Yang.
