Please Note: Due to ongoing public health concerns regarding COVID-19, CMC facilities are closed to the public, and practice room rental is not available until further notice. We continue to follow protocols from the CDC and work closely with California and San Francisco Public Health officials in outlining our reopening procedures, and are working hard to prioritize the safety and wellbeing of our students, faculty, and staff in all scenarios. Stay connected with CMC to receive timely updates on our plans through email, social media, and our website.
Have a roommate or two who aren’t fans of Beethoven? Neighbors who just can’t get into Bossanova? Community Music Center’s Mission District Branch has six practice rooms available for public use, each with an upright piano.
CMC students: Free
General public (Mission District Branch Only): $5 per hour for up to 2 hours. (This covers the cost of keeping our pianos tuned.) The Richmond District Branch does not have practice rooms for rent.
Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis when classes are not in session. There are no reservations. Rooms must be vacated when needed by CMC faculty. CMC staff is not available to check room availability.
While availability can never be guaranteed, the best times to find an empty practice room are usually:
Please be considerate and keep the door closed during your practice. If practicing is excessively loud or disturbing to faculty or staff, you may be asked to stop your practice and vacate the room.
Acoustic instruments only, please.
We do not allow non-CMC faculty to teach lessons in our practice rooms.
NO EATING, DRINKING, OR SMOKING IN PRACTICE ROOMS.
