Margaret Gordon

(2011) Coloratura soprano. BM in Vocal Performance and BA in Anthropology from the University of Washington (2008). MA in Vocal Performance from San Jose State University (2010). Certification in Somatic Voicework™ – The Lovetri Method from Shenandoah Conservatory (2014) and Voice Science Pedagogy from New York University (2015). Margaret has trained with the Sessione Senese Per La Musica in Siena and The Italian Operatic Experience in Urbania, Italy. Although most of her training is classical, she enjoys exploring all styles of vocal expression. She performs regularly at various events and churches in the Bay Area, as well as with local companies such as SF Opera On Tap, Lamplighters Music Theater, and Verismo Opera in Berkeley. She teaches using a mixture of classical technique, voice science and medicine, and sound healing. She teaches any style that interests the student, such as musical theater, pop/rock, jazz, blues, and opera. Margaret believes that with the right instruction and determination anyone has the ability to sing.
