Shenson Salons: Bernal Hill Players
Martha Rodríguez Salazar and Jennifer Peringer

In February 2020  the Bernal Hill Players were honored to inaugurate the 25th annual CMC Shenson Faculty concert series, with a program of North and South American chamber music played by five members of the CMC community, on flute, voice, clarinet, saxophone, piano and guitar. For the Zoom live concert they will be unable to reprise any of the exact pieces from the concert due to instrumentation issues.

They will give a taste of the ensemble’s aesthetic with several flute, voice and piano duo repertoire from the U.S. and Mexico. The four short pieces will emphasize their interest in women composers, cultural diversity, and local creative community. The pieces express the ensemble members’ current range of feelings, from sadness about the pandemic, to the simple joys of contemplating nature, to the memory of parties past, and the hope for parties again one day.
