VICTOR FLAVIANI (1983), percussion (drum set). BM, SFSU. Studied with Steve Mitchell, Barry Jekowsky and Richard Kvistad. Professional experience includes top 40, rock n’ roll, jazz and country bands, as well as orchestral music.

ERIC GARLAND (2004), drum set. BA, Popstyles/Jazz Performance, SFSU. Performed with Dave Leibman, Bobby McFerrin (with Brass Monkey Brass Band), Spencer Day, Will Bernard, and many more. ROBERT LOPEZ (2016) drum set. Robert Lopez is a percussionist, composer, curator and educator based out of Oakland. His diverse background in various types of music such as folkloric traditions of Brazil, Ghana and Cuba, alongside contemporary chamber music, and free improvisation, have allowed him to maintain a malleable approach to sharing musical ideas. His holds a Bachelors of Music Degree from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at Cal State University Long Beach and a Master of Fine Arts in Music Performance and Literature from Mills College. Currently, he spends his time making music with groups ZE BIB!, the Oakland Active Orchestra, Jordan Glenn’s Beak, Opera Wolf and Grex among others. He is also on staff as a dance accompanist at Mills College, UC Berkeley, and Oberlin Dance Collective in San Francisco. As a teaching artist, he has lead workshops for the Alameda Music Project, Jeena Inc., Thingamajigs, and the D.I.Y. mavericks.

PEPE JACOBO (1995), guitar (acoustic and electric), percussion (drum set and Latin).  Pepe Jacobo received his Diploma in Music from the University of Costa Rica. He has studied with Stewart Mars, taken private classes with Antoni Saroni, Pete Magadini and many others. Pepe creates and performs original music on guitar and percussion. His teaching emphasizes the mathematics of time signatures, music therapy, scales, chords, open tones and fun.
Also speaks Spanish.

Active local performer, teacher and world class musician. Toured with renowned artist in UK, Europe, the Caribbean and South America. Has participated in more than 20 recordings, CDs, DVDs and books. javier cabanillasJAVIER CABANILLAS (2012) percussion, Mission District Young Musicians Program. Conga player, composer and educator Javier Cabanillas is most recognized for his recording and touring work as conga player for GRAMMY-Award Winner Pacific Mambo Orchestra. Cabanillas started his musical career in the marginalized areas of Tijuana, Mexico. National and international travel landed him studies at San Diego State University and The Jazzschool Institute in Berkeley. Cabanillas has performed for television programs, festivals, and prestigious venues and has been featured in various magazines, newspapers and website articles for his playing, teaching, touring and recording contributions in the genres of Tropical, Latin Jazz and World Music. Cabanillas enjoys sharing historical, traditional and technical styles with his students that lead up to an ensemble and performance setting. He then builds his students’ confidence, providing them a safe place to make mistakes and challenges them to listen and play from their hearts. Cabanillas has taught in private music education systems in Mexico and from kindergarden-high school in the California public schools. Also speaks Spanish.
