| Description: | Director Ken Rosen’s CMC Teen Jazz Band will perform swing, rock, funk, and jazz. They will premiere a new composition, "Needle, Feather, and a Rope", by singer/songwriter Alexei Wajchman. In addition to singing and playing guitar with the band, Alexei will play songs from his forthcoming 2010 album release.
Alexei grew up on Capp Street and was a longtime scholarship student at CMC, studying with Ken Rosen and Urs Leonhardt Steiner. His two recent Blind Willies albums, The Unkindness of Ravens (2007) and Everybody's Looking for a Meal (2008), have been highly acclaimed and played on over 100 radio stations in the US, Canada, Europe, Israel, and Australia.
