On Wednesday, September 25 at 4:30pm, internationally renowned classical pianist Emanuel Ax will give a master class in Community Music Center’s concert hall. Mr. Ax has set aside time in his rehearsal and performance schedule with the San Francisco Symphony to visit CMC’s Mission District Branch. Four Community Music Center piano students will be selected to play for this hour-long master class, which is free and open to the public. Seating is extremely limited, so make sure to reserve your seats early.

Ax’s plush tone and intense focus created the sensation of floating in air and yet being somehow rooted to the earth. Time felt as though it stood still and yet the piece seemed to be over in an instant. I can explain none of this. The experience was exceptional.
