(2012) Monika received her Bachelor of Music degree from Oberlin College (’07) and her Master of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (’09). Since graduating, Monika has maintained an active schedule as a freelance musician with several orchestras and ensembles throughout the Bay Area. In recent years, she has also toured all over the U.S., China, South America, and Europe. She can be heard on recordings for many local singers/songwriters, films, and video games, and has even shared the stage with world-renowned artists like Sting and Chicago! Monika is an advocate for music education.
In 2012-2013, she will be representing the San Francisco Symphony in the schools through the Adventures in Music program. She has been teaching for over 10 years and has had students of all ages and levels. While the French horn is often regarded as a challenging instrument, Monika believes that a mindful approach to practicing coupled with a healthy dose of positive reinforcement make her lessons fun!
