Andrew Ferren

(2016) Andrew Ferren is a musician, producer, and teaching artist based in San Francisco, California. Beginning with piano at an early age, Andrew focussed his efforts on saxophone a few years later. During High School Andrew began playing flute and clarinet, writing music and arranging for small groups while beginning his professional career as saxophonist and leader.

Continuing his studies and performance of Jazz, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Funk and blues while living in Seattle, Andrew’s path was accelerated when he moved to New York City to attend the New School University Jazz and Contemporary Music program, where he studied composition, music theory and improvisational performance. Andrew has had the honor of performing with many great musicians and bands throughout California and the West Coast at venues as varied as Yoshi’s, Great American Music Hall, Slims, The Independent, and Boom Boom Room.
