STRINGS COACHING WORKSHOP WITH AN ACCOMPANIST with Ann Lam and Theodora Carson
The workshop is for students with polished repertoire that calls for an accompanist. So often students work on their solo pieces without the chance to play it with the accompaniment part. This is a crucial aspect of performance, since these pieces are meant to be played with the accompaniment part (which is often the piano). A participant can expect 10 minutes of time to rehearse their piece with accompanist Theodora Carson and get feedback from both Theodora and a string department faculty member. This is a great opportunity for string players as we are accepting performers in the upcoming string department recital 1/14–the workshop would be a great chance for students to rehearse their pieces for the recital. And getting feedback from a string department faculty member is a bonus for any string players. Please RSVP to CMC Strings Department Chair, Ann Lam at ALam@Sfcmc.org

VOCAL PERFORMANCE PRACTICUM with Martha Rodríguez-Salazar and Jonathan Smucker, accompaniment by Jennifer Peringer
Open to all singers, this is an opportunity to perform a vocal solo in an informal setting and to receive performance feedback from voice department faculty members. A faculty pianist will be provided, or performers may accompany themselves.Session 1: 3:00-4:00 pm
Session 2: 4:00-5:00 pm

Please RSVP to Voice Department Chair Jonathan Smucker at jsmucker@sfcmc.org, with your name, song title and timing (5 minutes or less). Please indicate which session you would like to attend, as well as whether you require a microphone or amplifier. Performance times will be assigned in order of receipt- space is limited so don’t delay!
